We recently partnered with a company that organizes team building retreats in an outdoor setting. This particular retreat was held just outside of Napa and incorporated all sorts of outdoor activities: sunrise yoga, nature walks and an evening of astronomy lessons under the night sky. The event was a self-directed agenda which allowed attendees to decide when they arrived what events or activities they wanted to do each day. By using the ConBop mobile event app, users could add their selected activities to their agenda to indicate interest in an event. This allowed the event organizers to keep a tab on the number of people showing up for an activity and also maintained the stress-free atmosphere they were after. In addition to organized events, attendees were also given the option of hanging out at the pool, going to a winery or an activity on their own.
The app integrated into their event not just as providing a guide to the days’ events but also allowing for open dialogue between the team through surveys and message boards. Users also captured the serenity of the retreat using the photo gallery and social media plug ins. The organizers were able to link in local trail maps, restaurant and optional activities into the app. Traditionally, a mobile event app and an outdoorsy event may seem like a weird mix, but with this technology company, there wasn’t a single suit at the event without their mobile phones. Leveraging a mobile event app allowed for everyone to get into the spirit and willingly participate in events that interested them.
